What is Medical Massage Therapy?

Medical Massage Therapy (a.k.a. Orthopedic Massage Therapy) is a massage used to recover from muscle-based pains or injuries.  Medical massage is useful in cases where a person experiences muscular pain which comes from soft tissue injuries and dysfunction of your muscles.

A medical massage can be either one treatment or a treatment plan that happens over the course of a few sessions with an end goal.  Not every injury or condition requires the same amount of treatment time to get better, some heal faster than others.  Medical massage treatments can have a significant impact on chronic pain, post-rehab pre-rehab, and subacute injuries.

If your condition is bad enough (and with your written consent) we will work with your Doctor or Physical therapist to have a comprehensive approach, allowing you to maximize your recovery and manage your pain as best you can.
